Abz Love is best known for selling over 20 million records with Simon cowells 90’s boyband 5ive, reuniting for ITV’s the BIG REUNION and coming runner up in Celebrity Big brother 12.
And then in 2015 the BBC sent a documentary crew to film us for our own 3 part BBC 2 series COUNTRY STRIFE : Abz on the farm. The show followed us as we made the not so seamless transition from urban life to running a smallholding in rural wales.
Many people tell fibs about their financial status out of fear of what people will think, but we decided to shun pride and convention by admitting that money was tight for us. We were hoping that we could earn a living from our new lifestyle but unsurprisingly our ‘farming empire’ was plagued by disaster and didn’t quite get off to the flying start we were expecting.
So in September 2015 Abz announced live on the wright stuff that he would be selling his brit award on eBay to fund a delivery of top soil and some gardening tools. And thanks to his rather comical listing description which included comments like “has been used as a door stop” and “has been held by Jason Statham though I can not prove this” the story went around the world and thousands of fans flooded to eBay to send messages of support and bid on the award.
Over the following days news of the auction hit africa, australia and even india and bids on the Abzonthefarm eBay account reached £1,000,000!!!! We were egg – static! (sorry) The story became so big it was featured in the BBC christmas special of Country strife : Abz on the christmas farm
But we were quite literally ‘counting our chickens’ too soon because eBay deleted the auction before bidding ended leaving the trophy unsold.
Needless to say Abz still needs gardening tools and top soil. (Not to mention corn for his growing brood of ornamental poultry.) So the UK’s favourite farmer/rapper has come up with a novel way of raising cash for his farm project….He’s back with a self penned fun, farm themed pop track called ‘Cockadoodledoo’!!!
Abz says “I’d describe Cockadoodledoo as a cross between soulja boy ‘crank that’ and ‘old mcdonald had a farm.’ All proceeds will go towards running and expanding our farm, starting with topsoil, gardening tools and some corn for me chickens.”
If you want to support Abz and our farm project please buy the track (available at all good digital stores from January 4th) and you can view the hilarious music video for ‘Cockadoodledoo’ below (please share far and wide!!) Abz has released this himself without any record company involvement, so 100% of the net proceeds from the singles sales will go to our farm project.
Critics are calling the song “A feathery masterpiece” and “simply EGGScellent”
